Revolutionizing the Ticketing Industry for 30+ Years
It started with a software programmer, a short-order cook and his college roommate in a small town called Oley, Pennsylvania. Peter Grumblatt saw the opportunity to streamline the ticketing and scheduling of intercity bus routes from a manual, laborious process involving thick paper books to a computerized transaction that took mere seconds to complete.
So he wrote the original software and then worked with Michael Andre and Darryl Moser to continue developing that technology.
From there, they formed Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc., and expanded their Galaxy point-of-sale solution to serve the unique needs of various industries including amusement parks, museums, zoos and aquariums, tours and attractions, and ferry operations.
Working directly with these customers to uncover untapped opportunities and solve their operational challenges, we continued developing this technology and its core functionality.
Solutions advanced from issuing a simple general admission ticket to handling virtually any ticketing need including timed events and capacity management. With the advent of the internet, we developed solutions to sell online through any device, to create custom webpages for groups to book their trips, and to allow hotels and grocery stores to sell attractions tickets to their guests and customers.
Recognizing the need to validate those tickets, Gateway developed the industry’s leading admission control solution so that attractions can track their attendance in real time, know when tickets are used and reduce fraud.
Innovation at Gateway continues to this day
Recently we launched Galaxy Connect, the web-based platform that is connecting our attraction suppliers with an unlimited number of third-party distributors to sell live tickets through only one integration.
Similar to how 30+ years ago our founders found a simpler way to issue intercity bus tickets – we are again revolutionizing industry with Galaxy Connect which is eliminating the cumbersome voucher process prevalent in the attractions industries.
